SMART (Student Marks and Records Tool) is an EASE (Edinburgh University Authentication Service) protected system and is available as a channel via the MyEd portal. 

SMART was originally developed for a single school.  Over the ten years since, it has been adopted by more schools and more are likely to adopt it.  There have been investigations carried out by IS to amend SMAIRT in order to scale SMART to deal with new users in HSS.

This project covers:

• Establishing the tasks that need to be carried out for the database migration.
• Ensure that when the Database if transferred it is created with its own instance
• Setting up SMART in DEV, TEST and LIVE that will replace the old infrastructure.
• Carrying out any testing in DEV, TEST and LIVE and subsequent reworking if required.
• Carry out user testing with the business to ensure that the application associated with the database work.
• Carrying out an investigation to the Cron jobs and implementing any required changes.
• Carry out load testing and establish a baseline performance before the changes are implemented into live.
