Priority and Funding
The bussiness would like the system to be avaialable as close to the new symester as possible. However Funding is still be secured.
3 point Estimate
The Project have rationolised this estimate and have submitted the following breakdown by email as the 3 point estimate was not sufficient for the bussiness to commucate the breakdown as part of the funding action
Total Estimated Project Cost: £12,020
This total cost comprises the following components:
1. Labor Costs:
- £10, 270
- Based on a project of 26 days effort
- Calculated using a day rate of £395
2. Infrastructure Costs (Annual):
- £1,750
3. Detailed Explanation of Costs:
Labor Costs:
Our project timeline estimate is 26 days total effort, covering all phases from planning through to initial production support. Using our standard blended day rate of £395, this amounts to £10,270
This includes time for:
- Project management
- Infrastructure design
- REDCap license procurement support
- Building and configuring REDCap infrastructure
- Integration and system testing
- Deployment and validation
- Documentation and sign-off
- Initial production support for 1 year
Infrastructure Costs:
The annual infrastructure estimate of £1,749 covers both test and live environments and includes storage and backup costs
Key Considerations:
- The project is designed to support 500-1000 external athlete participants, with potential for future expansion to all universities.
- We've factored in requirements for data privacy and security, including separate database servers .
- The estimate includes initial production support for 1 year, but a long-term support strategy and funding will need to be addressed for beyond September 2024.
- We've allocated time for determining data isolation requirements and URL finalization.
Impact and Dependencies
The successful implementation of REDCap will significantly enhance the University's research capabilities and data management processes. It will provide a secure, efficient platform for data collection and analysis, potentially improving collaboration within the institution and with external partners.
