Overview
Background
The Spatial Memories project is building a Smartphone App to help disabled users find their way around a campus or to a workplace. Users can record (or be provided with) images, audio and text linked to places along a route marked on a map. The intent is to help users with anxiety problems, or focus issues, or with mobility restrictions, find their way along the route. An authoring tool will help campus or work admin staff provide routes for different users.
This is a proof of concept which will lead to further funding and development if it demonstrates usability to the target audience. The project faces a tight deadline and EDINA have requested help in bringing the authoring tool to the desired standard.
Scope, objectives and deliverables
This project will enhance the proof of concept authoring tool for the EDINA Spatial Memories system. The project will implement a number of features and accessibility improvements, working on priorities set by EDINA from the list of issues recording on their issue tracking software. The project is limited by the budget and will address as many issues as possible in the time available.
Benefits
- Improved accessibility for users with disabilities. Such people are the target audience for this project.
- Enhanced functionality for the proof of concept system.
Success Criteria
Each task will have specific success criteria agreed by the Project Sponsor and the Developer.
