This innovation investment opportunity is offered to the CIO in conjunction with ‘matched innovation’ from LTW Division and support from EDINA . The Open Scotland Co-ordinator works closely with the OER service in LTW. Funding this additional time will enable:
- Representing Scotland and the University of Edinburgh within the Open Policy Network.
- Supporting the OER16 Conference[1] at the University of Edinburgh.
- Updating the Scottish Open Education Declaration to align with recent government policy directives and identifying existing practice to evidence the points of the declaration.
- Raising awareness of open education initiatives at the University of Edinburgh and across all sectors of Scottish Education.

Success criteria: Cannot fail. No down side to this, just increased visibility and reputation on an international level.
Return on investment: reputation and profile as an institution which leads the open agenda on a national stage.
