Request to confirm Veeam as the DR tool of choice

Tony, Garry I don't know if you heard but we managed to successfully DR the SOA environment on Tuesday. Both the "fail over" and then "fail back" were carried out and we are very happy with the result.

This means we now need to determine a few things going forward.

First of all can we agree that the use of Veeame for SOA is going to be an acceptable technology from your perspective. So in other words are we Ok to consider this our expected route for DR. If so I need to communicate this to my colleagues here in Apps but importantly I feel that the Virtual Team also needs to be fully conscious of this decision as no doubt they will appreciate the impact and what it will mean for them if we have to put this in to practice.

Secondly thinking about the future, I am very keen to employ Veeame as a technology we use for some of our more significant services, or services that demand that they are recovered as rapidly as possible perhaps. Very much in my thoughts right now is that we are looking to use the same techniques for our Finance application tier recovery. This would mean that rather than a point solution for SOA I am really looking for your agreement that we now have a service we can employ and that if we determine we can we have a good use case in future projects we can use the tech with your blessing. I say a good use case because I think there will no doubt be examples of services where we determine we do not need to use Veeame for whatever reason.

I understand you might be taking some leave over the next week or so but I would really appreciate some of your thoughts on this or if you could offer some clarity\certainty around the use of Veeame for our future needs.
