Project Summary:

The deliverables achieved were the DEV, TEST and LIVE instances of EUPS database applications in use moved to the APPS database and upgraded to the Oracle version 11g. Applications using the database were assessed for the move.

Explanation for variance:

Additional analysis and meetings to determine the approach and scope added additional time. As did the discussion around which schemas were actually to be migrated.

Two applicatons , U@Ed and SCWEIMS did not have their schemas moved as they were no longer required.

Key Learning Points:

A central dictionary/repositary of applications , their usage and ownership would have been advantageous to the project in determining the initial scope of applications for migration. For example, the planned retiral of U@ED.
