The project is to develop six high quality display panels to be mounted alongside the steps up into New College Library.  These will highlight treasures from New College Library rare book and archive collections against a timeline of Scottish religious history with Edinburgh focus. Postgraduate students from the School of Divinity will be invited to contribute their ideas for the project, plus the project will employ one PG student with subject expertise in this area on casual payroll.  To ensure efficient processes, we will reuse existing digital images of New College Library collections,  from the University image database. We have costed some budget for additional photography to allow us to photograph additional items from archive collections not previously photographed. The project will improve a currently unattractive area of the library entrance which is used by all visitors to the library, including prospective students, with eyecatching and intelligently  designed panels showcasing New College Library Special Collections. It will contribute to raising the profile of New College Library's unique Special Collections and increasing engagement with them in the student and staff community of the School of Divinity and other Schools using New College Library.
