Report Date
May 2018

Achievements

  • Student, Bryan Tan, hired as Content producer with work underway
  • Scenarios for campaigns/stories identified with two now being developed into fuller pieces
  • Project presented at UoE Social Media Community with a good level of interest
  • Research on technical affordances of WhatsApp undertaken by Eliisabet (student also employed via Innovation funded work)
  • Potential wider campaigns or extension projects possible through wider comms network (see S3)
  • Potential to build relationships with other support services more deeply through this work - Bryan has already been introduced to several existing contacts to take forward this work.

Issues

  • Student is on leave for two weeks so no further story/campaign development until his return
  • WhatsApp API is not official or mature - looking at alternative options for the API but also for delivery.

Next Steps

  • Produce first version fo 2 scenarios to enable decision over which one will be fully developed and content produced, and which will be included in project reporting as potential future campaign.
  • Bryan to present to the ISG Comms & Branding group (already agreed with Jeremy Upton)
  • Begin production of assets.

Budget Information

  • Spend to date £1,920. Extension requested into 18/19 for Freshers Week for budget carry forward of £5,520.
