Playfulness and games for creativity, innovation, and engagement as part of ISG culture is being embedded through development of a strategy that sets out the purpose, implementation, and evaluation of these activities to tie in with wider University policy and strategy.
Phase 1 in 2017/18 undertook research and experimentation to uncover areas of improvement, empowerment and development of playful approaches throughout ISG. This also led to a range of feedback which is now being directed to the Change Programme areas of: Equality and Diversity, Innovation, Staff Learning and Development. A Playful ISG web space on Thinking.is.ed.ac.uk is being created and throughout.
Phase 2 will be used to:
- promote the tools, services, and opportunities being provided by ISG for internal staff
- promote our playful services to the wider University
- inspire and attract new talent.
Phase 2 will see the development and proposal of the strategy to ISG Change Theme Directors and dissemination of our approach to UK Information Technology, and Learning and Teaching, conferences.
