The ongoing pandemic has changed the way we deliver teaching activities within our teaching spaces, pushing us to adopt a hybrid approach. This has highlighted some challenges when trying to conduct asynchronous activity within a hybrid classroom, making us aware that we cannot deliver this in the usual way. The challenge is the interaction between in-class and online students, ensuring that we make the online students feel engaged and included in the activity.
Hybrid Classroom at the university is defined as ’the ability to teach to and interact with in room and remote students in the same teaching space.’
Research by the service team has identified a viable technology scale that can be implemented within our teaching spaces. Some functionality can be delivered immediately utilising current resources, with more advanced functionality deployed as we progress, and further funding is approved.
