As the project Web Archivist reaches the end of her contract on 6th February 2023, she has focussed on her contributions to the final project report to Wellcome. The official end of the project is end of April 2023, with project staff contracts end dates staggered until then. The Web Archivist, Alice, has presented on 'Lessons Learned' and future directions of the project at the Digital Preservation Coalition Web Archiving and Preservation Working Group. She has also delivered introductory workshops to researchers at Edinburgh University and Strathclyde University on using web archives in research, specifically health-related research. 

Overspend has been identified and the Steering Committee has discussed the best use of the funds. A decision has been made to allocate the £5k underspend on workshops to cover conference and workshop expenses for project staff to present the project findings to different communities, including RESAW - A Research Infrastructure for the Study of Archived Web Materials.  The remaining underspend, created by the early exit of a project staff member at NLS, will be allocated to extend the contract of the Metadata Analyst at NLS to improve the mapping and sharing of collection metadata for improved discovery and research use, including improved functionality for importing UK Web Archive metadata into ArchivesSpace. 

A Steering Committee meeting will be held in March to follow up plans for future funding applications and the next phase of the project.
