My thanks to the team as I’m pleased to report that good progress is being made across the project workstreams.  The team are dedicated and focused on a successful launch.

Our progress has been assisted enormously when in the midst of tricky negotiations dialogue between the Implementation team and Echo360 started to take place.  The kick off meeting with Echo360 took place on the 18th of May.

That said the delay in closing the contract with Echo360 does have some knock-on effects that we are attempting to mitigate.  There are limitations on what we can do in terms of linking our services to Echo’s as we cannot add any personal data into the system, which means no recording of people outside of the core group and that makes testing/training harder to organise.  The purchasing of equipment for the rooms is now flowing thanks to our Sponsor and Directors Office raising a purchase order, but the timelines are being compressed due to a week delay in the other AV equipment arriving.  The Identity (in particular the name) of the service is currently under consultation and will be ready at the end of June, which is a short delay.

These issues are being mitigated, all have been discussed at the Implementation Steering Group and all are noted in the risk log.  I remain confident in our timelines, but it is prudent to show the project at Amber.

In terms of our communication with Echo360, they use Basecamp for discussion and task allocation.  The response to queries placed on Basecamp has been good.  At this stage the team seem happy with the time to respond, but I would like to monitor this as the implementation progresses.

It is a pleasure to reports that Karoline Nanfeldt who was our main student voice on the Competitive Dialogue procurement team has joined the University as a staff member for the summer to assist the implementation.  Karoline’s line manager is Jenni Houston.

The launch date has been provisionally set for the 5th of September.
