Overview

Background

This project will procure an online assessment application for use by the Medical School.

Note:- recent projects MVM012 and MVM032 have assessed Speedwell and deployed V1.5 - eSystem - to be used by the Vet school. It was found to be unsuitable for the Medical School.

Whilst Speedwell software has been in use by different areas within the University, it does not meet the requirements of the Medical School.

In a recent National Student Survey, the School established that improving both the assessment and feedback was the number one priority. The student experience is greatly enhanced when feedback can be provided at the question or topic level. Currently this is difficult without compromising the question bank. Hence, a new online assessment application is required to introduce a faster and much improved student experience.

Scope

The scope of this project is to plan, manage and execute the procurement of an online application for the Medical School.

This will follow the University process of procurement at all stages.

Further projects will be initiated to run in parallel with the evaluation and contractual arrangement which will migrate existing data, implement and ensure support is fully delivered.

Objectives / Deliverables

The objective is to procure a suitable online assessment application for the Medical School.

A future project will cover its implementation, which will run in parallel to ensure no time is lost by business users adopting any new solution

Benefits

Improving assessment and feedback of the students is considered the number one priority for the Medical School. This will be achieved by the deployment (future project) of the application procured by this project. It is a strategic target to improve student satisfaction and it is believed that this tool will greatly enhance the student experience.

Success Criteria

The completion of the procurement process ensuring it is ready to test during summer 2017.
