July 2018

Report Date
July 2018

Achievements in Last Period

  • Additional R(D)SVS staff resource has been assigned to the project; Adam Gow has taken over as Business Lead, with assistance from Corolla Daniel to cover development and Jess Porter on operational aspects of Provet.
  • FNS visited R(D)SVS at the end of June to support external labs config and demonstration and training for the clinical reporting.
  • Tests being carried out on migrated data (comparison of cases in Tristan and Provet).
  • Provet migration scripts have been modified so that they can take monthly updates (Tristan data and files) until final launch; this has the benefit of reducing potential downtime when the service is switched over; this also provides contingency for Provet to be brought into service quickly should this be agreed in the event of an unplanned and catastrophic failure with Tristan.
  • Interim solution to address the staff difficulties with Farm & Equine kiosk machines is being implemented - thanks to Head of College IT, local campus IS team and USD staff for progressing this.

Issues

  • Business Lead role has changed with Laura Dickenson leaving the University in July and Adam Gow taking this role. Plans in place to cover additional R(D)SVS resourcing however concerns on availability of key staff to cover critical aspects of the project especially coordinating UAT; no escalation necessary at this stage.
  • FNS updated the Project Board on slippage - MVP for HFSA now not expected to be available to UoE for testing before late August; FNS also updated on some reported service issues and it was agreed with the Project Board that the Senior Supplier would take this up separately with the FNS CEO at the earliest opportunity. No escalation necessary at this stage.

Next Steps

  • R(D)SVS staff to complete spot checks comparing information in live cases in Tristan to Provet ahead of any Go / No Go decision on HFSA launch.
  • Agree external lab pilot.
  • Review project plan, timeline, estimates for next Project Board 24/07/18.
  • Review budget, resourcing, timeline and milestones.

RAG Commentary
Issue - Project RAG status is currently AMBER due to the revised timeline needing to be approved by the Project Board. This has been complicated by the departure of the Business Lead and FNS staff being on leave during July. Revised dates to be presented to the Project Board. No escalation required at this time.
