The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (RDSVS) requires a replacement for its current radiography digital images system (PACS). PACS allows comprehensive integrated management of DICOM and non-DICOM image patient data, including examination archival, workflow, tracking, reporting, ingestion and export of such data for improved client service, teaching and research. Such functionality is provided by Vendor Neutral Archiving (VNA) systems.
The current system is outdated, inadequate and unstable. It needs to be replaced as soon possible.
The Easterbush Campus needs to implement a technological solution with a patient-centred imaging acquisition, storage and display system. All commonly available picture file types for diagnostic images, photography, movies, drawings, print-outs need to loadable, storable and displayable anywhere on campus as well as the possibility for regulated off-campus access. The system should be vendor independent and needs to communicate well with our new Patient Management System. This will also be a prerequisite for the LARIF installation. This is a critical requirement for ongoing service provision and preparations have been made with all Easterbush Campus services to move ahead with this project.
