The Online Course Production team is collaborating with Dr Michael Gallagher, a Senior Lecturer in Digital Education from the Centre for Research in Digital Education, to create a new MOOC. The course called 'How to Teach an Online Course' is primarily aimed at educators who are new to teaching online. It isn't a 'how to' course in terms of showing all the functionality available in online teaching but rather, it provides materials to help learners think about pedagogy, building an community online, and feedback & assessment.

The course will be a four-week one and launched on FutureLearn and Coursera. It will enable learners to engage with a course that effectively applies the principles of good online teaching. Through this we hope learners will develop empathy for the online student experience and apply their learnings to their own online teaching practice.
