Following a structural review in late 2013, a new corporate engagement function and corresponding organisational structure was developed for the University of Edinburgh Business School (UEBS). Within this re-organisation there was a desire by senior management to procure a CRM system, which would allow transparency of corporate relationships across all functions of the School. As such, the Business, Alumni and International Partnerships Team (BAIP) was formed with the strategic vision that Salesforce would be the CRM platform of choice with a view to the rolling this out across the whole school in the future (within the next 5 years – 2020).
As the first project within this CRM programme portfolio, this will serve as the pilot for CRM implementation and it is expected that many lessons will be learnt during this process, which will improve future CRM implementation projects across other teams within UEBS.
