Overview

Background

The MI in current use is outdated and does not reflect the needs of the division today. An update to what kind of information is presented to different levels of management is needed. 

 

Scope

The scope of this project is to:

  • Research and present the MI in current use and document this.
  • Through primary and secondary research find out what information Project, Program and Portfolio Managers will find useful, and present this in a GAP Analysis.
  • Summarize these findings in a research report and suggest changes to current MI.
  • Include business partners in the analysis -  Project Manager to speak with Portfolio Managers about who will be relevant.
  • Gain an understanding of the information needed for the MI in Student Systems.
  • Suggest changes for MIs at different levels: Senior, Portfolio, Program.
  • Suggest additional features managers might want.
  • Support the production of the new MI.

  • Production of new MI.
  • Support of current MI.
  • Detailed reporting on the MI for Student Systems. This will be discussed further with the Project Sponsor when the needs for Student Systems is better understood.

 

Objectives

The objective of this project is to collect information to support the production of a new MI. The new MI will improve Quality Management as it will be easier for different levels of managers to view the information they need.

Benefits

The overall benefit of this project is to support the development of a new MI that will:

  • Streamline quality assurance process by reducing the time required look over the status of projects and eliminating distracting and irrelevant information. 
  • Reduce human errors made during quality assurance as there is less irrelevant information to get muddled into.

The benefits this project will give the production of this MI:

  • Give an accurate description of what information different managers wants at different levels so the new MI can be as helpful as possible.

 

Success Criteria

  • Collected sufficient information about what managers wish to see in the MI.
  • Surveyed different managers at different levels of seniority.
  • Provide clear picture of what MI is already in place.
  • Provide clear view of what changes should be made and with what priority.
