Overview

Background

Process Mapping, a common and useful skillset known to most business analysts, is used to visually present workflows and processes within a project or workplace. It is, therefore, a transferrable skillset that could be useful to people in other roles both within and outside of the University. Possibly the most commonly used Process Mapping software is Visio, which many non-analysts may not be familiar with, thus reducing their ability to successfully employ Process Mapping in their own projects. This project aims to rectify this by producing a toolkit of Visio templates and corresponding guidance documents to teach total beginners the ropes of Process Mapping via Visio.

Scope

  • Production of Visio templates for simple Process Mapping practices
  • Production of corresponding Word documents with how-to's of how to navigate and personalise the Visio templates for the individual's project.

Out of scope

  • Training of beginners to use these tools and the toolkit created.
  • Template analogues in Miro, due to time constraints of this project.
