There is a requirement for a robust, university-wide, locally accessed, database to record information on all equipment assets over the value of £10,000.

To support this, governance and management processes for recording, maintaining and managing the database will also be required.

The scope of this project is to:

  1. Establish the data, search and reporting functionality required to ensure compliance
  2. Develop the data collection, governance and management processes required to ensure the integrity of the data
  3. Examine existing datasets available and determine what additional data gathering is required
  4. Determine the best system solution for providing the functionality required, taking account of functionality already provided by existing corporate systems
  5. Implement and roll-out the required solution

The database will support the process for acquiring and supporting research equipment. This has been brought sharply into focus by the recommendations of the Wakeham Report 2010.
