This project will provide new infrastructure for the hosting of 2 public websites for the Centre for Cardiovascular Science (School of Biomedical Sciences).
Background
The website and database set up currently in place for the Centre for Cardiovascular Science (CCS) consists of :
1. A web server housed in the QMRI, Little France hosting CCS public and development websites and databases
and
2. An out of date test/back-up server, currently housed in George Square The Centre needs to replace this existing infrastructure to provide more advanced hosting solutions than CCS are able to provide within their group
These websites are important outputs of the International Union of Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Nomenclature Committee and the British Pharmacological Society, developed by Prof Tony Harmar's group at the University of Edinburgh and accessed by scientists from 160 countries.
The websites and the databases behind them have grown significantly in scope and usage in recent years and now require more advanced hosting solutions than we are able to provide within our group.
