Completion Report

Project Summary:

Additional hardware and logical filesystem storage delivered as planned.

No real technical issues encountered, however there were a number of logistical issues with regards to the ordering, delivery and physical installation encountered.

This led to an increase of local staff time used as we had to stop using the Dell installation services (to physically install the kit in racks) and do it ourselves to meet the project deadlines. This added approx an additional day of staff effort on top (though did decrease the capital spend to the vendor). This was largely due to a mixup and error from the supplying vendor around the supply of Dell services.

Additionally waste packaging has still not been removed / scheduling that with the supply vendor has been troublesome.

These are continued issues we look to resolve across all our equipment deliveries and have provided specific examples and problems to highlight to the supplying vendor in a bid to have them resolved for next time.

Stakeholder sign off has been received. They are able to see their new storage in the filesystem, in usage reporting they have access to and can also now allocate new storage spaces using the new storage.
