The EDDIE 3 cluster was originally purchased in 2014 with a 5 year operating lifetime and maintenance. A typical cluster is comprised of three major components:

Over this period the strategy for replacement of the system has moved to an annual rolling refresh model (as opposed to 5 year “big bang”).

However, certain core components that connect all of the other components cannot necessarily be replaced in a non-disruptive manner.

This project is to complete the installation of replacement back plane fabric.
