This project is focusing on the Course Descriptor which holds detailed information about each course. Courses are currently proposed and maintained through the CCAM (Course Creation And Maintenance) elements of EUCLID and are published on the DRPS and PATH. The structure of the course descriptor is to be amended in order to support changes to the content. Guidance on updating the content is being produced by PCIM Project members in Academic Services and will be distributed upon its completion in time for the annual course roll forward in January 2015. This enhancement wil provide more relevant information for students and staff, with greater clarity and further supports our QA responsibilities.
The project will bring several benefits:
- Staff maintaining course information will have more efficient and user friendly tools resulting in an improved user experience to help foster engagement.
- Staff proposing courses will have a process which is more intuitive to for the user.
- Improved course descriptor information fed into PATH and DRPS will have greater clarity and will benefit students and will contribute to the improved understanding of the curriculum.
