Adapting EUCLID assessment structures to support students’ extra time for learning adjustments

Adapting EUCLID assessment structures to support students’ extra time for learning adjustments

The University’s student record system (EUCLID) has been enhanced to enable adding extra time learning adjustments for all coursework assessments, which greatly benefits students. The SSP (Student Systems Partnership) team was asked to address this gap in the system after a usage shift in the number of extension days granted, was discovered.

More than 37,000 course results released to students with no outages

Staff and students appreciated speedy page load times and no outages, with the highest number of course results ever published in a single day.

We found the publishing process really smooth this year (from a system perspective).

Edinburgh College of Art

On Thursday 9th February it was reported that 37,176 course results were published for undergraduate and postgraduate students, with no outages reported.

Work completed

(2) analysed database queries and added additional indexes to improve query performance

(3) added additional timings for analytics to monitor performance

EUCLID, the Student Record system, is being enhanced

This new project will fix existing issues in the student record system EUCLID. Staff in Student Systems Operations spend a significant amount of time correcting data issues caused by broken processes or failed automation. The plan is to pass more processing over to Schools, but this will only be possible if the issues are resolved.

In addition, this project will prioritise Adaptation and Renewal ART work to support students' administrative tasks during start of term, and enhance student data to meet the university HESA statutory returns.
