The University Seminar Site was recently developed based on a site from Cambridge (talks.cam), and modified for use across the University of Edinburgh. The University Seminar Site allows users to find out what seminars, talks and events are taking place across the University, with the School of Informatics and the College of Science and Engineering currently being the first adopters. The site is currently in pilot phase, and it is expected that as the use of this site is extended to other Schools and Colleges, it will enable greater engagement with staff, students and the public with seminars scheduled across the university, supporting the University strategic theme of building a lifelong community.
This project will deliver a number of agreed small enhancements to the University Seminar Site, which will enable the pilot phase to be used more effectively across other Schools and Colleges. These will improve the usability of the site itself, to make it easier to navigate and browse through the seminars, talks and events. These will also improve the display of the emails sent to users to share notice of forthcoming seminars.
