Programme info: To ensure that all areas of the University can operate seamlessly in the digital world, procurement is underway to secure a Short Courses Platform (SCP). The SCP will offer a digital education experience including online programmes and short courses that can be accessed worldwide and will focus on online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning. Developed in collaboration with representatives from the Colleges and Schools, USG, CSG and ISG, the ultimate goal of the SCP programme is to deliver a University-wide catalogue of non-credit-bearing free and paid-for taught courses for externally facing users (non-affiliated/non-matriculated) featuring multiple modes of study (face-to-face, online, hybrid).
Project info: Learners will receive various emails and notifications (e.g. booking confirmations; other learner communications) through the SCP. The purpose of this project (SCP008 - Configuration of SSO and IDM) is to:
- configure Single Sign On (SSO) via Azure AD for University staff accounts on the Eduframe course catalogue and Canvas learning environment (the main components of the SCP)
- enable Identity Management (IDM) staff account provisioning and authentication either via the development of a small application/middleware solution which would allow (local support) users to select individuals to be shared with the SCP; or via Eduframe's Power Platform connector
SCP capabilities will include course catalogue; checkout (integrated with University online payments system, WPM-Education); learner registration; VLE. Requirements gathering for configuration of email, SSO and IDM will take all of this functionality into account.
