This year we funded 17 projects out of 26 applications with grants ranging from £100 to £500 to a total of £4220. Our recipients are from across all colleges and have touched on a number of key SRS themes including circular economy, resource efficiency, climate, energy, food and sustainability in the curriculum. The applications were innovative in their ideas and many of them were collaborative with local and global partnerships. Some stand out project ideas include sustainable fashion show, plastics recycling for 3d printing, inter University network events, driverless car technology, student legacy parks, and lots of food education and growing projects across campus. The Student Project Grant will be reviewed in Q3 with the aim to improve the funding round in 2018.
Collaboration with the Students' Association has improved, with better links being developed with their work on social enterprise and student society support. The department has proactively supported the planning of the Sustain Ed event.
