Q1 2018/2019

Report Date
November 2018

A meeting with key Estates contacts was held to discuss the Joseph Black Building Wind Responsive Ventilation project. A number of additional considerations were raised at this meeting and further discussions will Estates and JBB staff is required before progressing with parts of the project. A phased progression was discussed, with changing fume hood controls in the Christina Millar extension and several other labs being identified as the first stage to carry out.

The Sustainable Lab Ventilation and Sustainable Cold Storage Facility best practice documents are in the process of being prepared for publication.

4 labs projects (freezer replacements) were proposed and approved for SCF funding.

RAG Commentary
Amber grade for 'Time' due to uncertainty of timing of works at Chemistry and the impact this may have on SCF approved and proposed projects. Costs for Wind Responsive Ventilation projects could be very substantial, but should be able to be covered by SCF and/or Estates.
