The project will improve the user interface in regard to some high-priority requirements MUSTs

  •     present information appropriately for students, staff and technical support
  •     improve the closure process for an alert
  •     covering the above, but also additionally, review the original SMI004 designs to see if there are any UI elements which were dropped we wish to implement

  of less priority (unless any of these are necessary to implement any of the MUSTs above) and given sufficent budget SHOULDs

  •     moving the data from Access to a properly supported SQL Server Database. To be estimated before deciding to keep in scope - Update : This will be done.
  •     setting up caching so that information remains available even if the infrastructure supporting the database fails. To be estimated before deciding to keep in scope. Update : This will not be done.
  •     moving the database onto a properly support infrastructure. To be estimated before deciding to keep in scope - but may be covered by COM014. Update : This will be done.
  •     upgrading the code from Cold Fusion 8 to Cold Fusion 9/10.To be estimated before deciding to keep in scope. Update : This will be done.
