The UniDesk SaaS procurement and migration has proved more complex and time consuming than anticipated. As a result of the protracted contract negotiations additional pressure was put on the migration timeline and meant that the scope was restricted to the migration of the TOPdesk application to SaaS. The outcome is that the UniDesk national service and its members remain dependent on infrastructure based at Edinburgh which were not possible to remove ahead of the migrations due to complex dependencies, resourcing, and timing.
This follow on project is to address the remaining dependencies on the Edinburgh infrastructure in the following areas:
