The University of Edinburgh - including members of staff and students - have been named finalists in five categories in the 2018 Green Gown Awards, administered by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC)

The University is a finalist in the following five categories:

Sustainability Institution of the Year for our commitment to delivering positive impact for society

Outstanding Leadership Team of the Year recognising the work of the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Department in supporting the University to make significant progress on climate change, responsible investment, sustainable procurement and local community engagement

Benefitting Society for our whole institution approach to combating modern slavery

Sustainability Champion - Student to celebrate student Lizzie Rhoades' role in leading the  "Do Edinburgh" campaign to encourage student societies to adopt sustainable behaviours in order to save carbon

Enterprise in recognition of the Prosper Social Finance club, the UK's first student-run social investment fund
