13.2 Newsletter expansion

Newsletter contacts down to 7,496 in April from 8,078 in February.

Behind target of 10,000 by July.

New users and content:

  1. New Sustainability Champions
  2. Continue to provide content relevant to them that they should be informed about and can take action on
  3. Continue to encourage user-generated content - more blogs, projects they can do, case studies, etc adapted to working from home

13.3 Social media expansion

Increase awareness & engagement amongst our target primary and secondary audiences by:

  1. Growing our reach and followers

Twitter

  • Followers April 2020: 5225
  • August 2020 target: 5500

On track for target, continue to target academic departments, local organisation and staff.

Facebook

  • Likes April 2020: 4074
  • August 2020 target: 5000

Slightly behind on target, rate of increases in likes slowed due to remote working and fewer students engaging.

Instagram

  • Followers April 2020: 1993
  • August 2020 target: 3000

Behind on target, some upcoming competitions have been paused which are usually vital to growing reach, need to focus on collaborations with students and external organisations.

LinkedIn

  • Followers April 2020: 496
  • August 2020: 500

Likely to exceed target. Continued focus on jobs and opportunities relevant to external audiences.

  1. Increasing audience interaction and UGC
    • Measured using Hootsuite Pro and recording stats in Excel.
  2. Funnelling engagement towards SRS events, projects and programmes
    • Measured by EdWeb, Eventbrite and Online Survey analytics
  3. Encouraging a loyal fanbase of SRS Champions

Noticeable decrease in engagement across social media channels now remote working in place. Events have now been cancelled which are usually a key method of gaining followers and increasing engagement with our channels.
