'Community Investment' project as of 20/21

Work on formal community benefit clauses attached to supplier contracts and tenders has not progressed over the last quarter. However, we have made some potential great informal in-roads:

/ We are now in direct contact with the Head of Community Investment for Balfour Beatty and, via her, colleagues in the Capital City Partnership

/ With Balfour Beatty and other colleagues within and outside the University, we are helping to develop a construction-linked project for schools in the Craigmillar area (likely developed in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce given the capacity of schools right now)

/ Balfour Beatty is hopefully supplying free monitors to people in the Craigmillar area in response to us making them aware of the more basic level of community need in the area. We will keep in touch with them about the need and contacts in the local area.

/ We have linked Balfour Beatty to IntoUniversity

RAG Commentary
Taken off 'paused' given informal work with Balfour Beatty. Amber as work related to formal community benefit clauses has not progressed in last quarter. Our move to a Community Investment project for 2020-24 should mean we are able to contribute more in this area.
