Q4 19/20

Report Date
August 2020

This project is still on hold but the new CRM is promising, especially as it should interact with both CaM's and EFI's - two major locuses of community interaction.

The Edinburgh Community Engagement Forum is proving a useful way of finding out what people are up to around the University, as is the new informal 'working with schools' group. The challenge is that the information isn't recorded anywhere BUT at least more than one person knows about it, reducing the risk a bit.

Once we have the new CRM, there will be a piece of work for a team member to upload existing data we know of.

RAG Commentary
Our knowledge of what is going on across the University is nowhere near as comprehensive as it needs to be, some 3 years after we tried to start this project. That said, compiling a massive database where the majority of input is done by one person, as originally intended by this project, is also unlikely to be the best use of staff time. The new CRM seems more sensible in that the data will be essentially crowd-sourced and - hopefully - updated in real-time without much additional effort. Given that, very happy to contribute from community engagement budget. Meanwhile, we are managing to be somewhat more coordinated than we were using informal networking.
