This project is structured in Phases:

Phase 1 - OLL changes to enable OLL credit students to be keyed into EUCLID

Phase 2 - OLLIE and CUPID Options Appraisal

Phase 2 will  deliver an Options appraisal and recommend how OLLIE and CUPID should be replaced / re-freshed.

Both the OLLIE and CUPID applications used by OLL urgently require technology refreshes to address usability issues and reduce support costs.

They are both over 10 years old, based on old MS Access technology.

Within OLL ,

CUPID supports CPD courses

OLLIE supports Credited and non-Credited courses:

-       Open Studies; Languages for All;  Art and Design Studies

-       these programmes (which cover 4 teaching sessions) offer about 1,100 courses over the year, attracting about 10,000 enrolments. Actual students are in the order of 5,000 . These programmes generate about £1m income.

There is also an additional unit – the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) – which will move to the Class.net software package for Language School Administration by Sept 2012.

As of 12/13 - it has been agreed that OLL will re-key all OLL credit students into EUCLID (to enable the HESA return from EUCLID to include OLL credit students).

The future business requirements for student administration systems within OLL should now recognise this change.

There are stability issues for both OLLIE and CUPID client applications running on Windows 7 which must be urgently addressed.

(As a workaround the IS Apps Apps Mgmnt team has had to build virtual machines for OLL, and revert to running the OLLIE and CUPID client on an old  version of MS Access which is now no longer supported)

The options appraisal will be followed by a procurement or implementation project. Full Implementation of new systems within OLL may be phased over an 18-month period

Business Analysis should recommend whether OLLIE and CUPID are re-developed separately , or whether requirements overlap closely enough that they could be considered together.
