Achievements this period

  • A workshop was held in which answers were provided by the business that brought clarity to what is expected when it comes to the costing of future work.
  • Access to a 3rd party Content Management System, Gather Content has been provided to the Lead Architect. Availability of this tool was not previously known and is presently being considered as more favourable to that of sole use of Django or Drupal.
  • Early assessment is that future work could make use of APIs to join with the golden source of data with Django as a tool supporting the back-end repository and front-end presentation layer. 

Issues

  • The Lead Architect has an extended period of holiday following the Christmas break which could put the delivery time-line at risk. 

  • No forward planning to compensate for loss of the Project Manager in January should project extend beyond this period.

Next steps

  • Contractor extension is being progressed and agreement to prioritise technical work to support the project and planning timeline.

  • Options appraisal paper to be produced for review.

The project manager is due to end their contract in January 2020. Due to a shortage of resources in Project Services we currently have no availability to take on the PM role should the work need to be extended. Effort is being progressed to extend the Project Manager contract.
