EUGEX

Viewing the eugex_smart_courses_vw (& eugex_ref_course_scheme_vw) displays the extra data showing if the course has a grade-only or numeric marking scheme via the new SMC13_IS_PASS_FAIL column.

There were now over 5000 records in dev, and the process took quite some time SELECT count(*) took 287seconds.

As development is still continuing on the next phase of the project in DEV I didn't run the manual import, as that would overwrite the current records being utilised, but I could see the data had been populated across into the SMART tables.

COURSE LEVEL CHANGES

Course BILG08001(2012-3_SV1_SEM1) was conveniently chosen as it is one of the first courses in the drop down menu with enrolled students and a course structure. This had a decent sized enrolment of 447 students. Random results were entered into the smart_course_results table including 'nulls' to make sure the return to registry sheet could not be displayed until all records were finalised. A second update to that table completed the outstanding marks.

The return to registry xml, pdf and csv files displayed as expected with the correct registry mappings. The course spreadsheets in csv and pdf format also displayed the pass/fail attribute as expected.

The new facility to amend pass/fail marks inline was tested successfully. This is a really nice idea that should speed up data entry.

PROGRAMME LEVEL CHANGES

Programme UTBSTUD was chosen for convenience to test the HSS enhancements.

Looking at the UG progression matrix (students in their third year), the spreadsheeet correctly flags those students on a Year Abroad (YA). Also the pdf and csv links immediately generate the files and open them directly to the user, bypassing the need to use the alerts box - nice feature.  The pdf and csv files render the correct data.

The UG progression matrix - Students to Graduate report also flags YA students and correctly calculates their results and removes the option to amend their year weighting between years three and four. The "amend result", "amend year weighting" and "(dis)count courses"  features are displayed appropriately and work correctly. Any changes to the results from the use of those features is accordingly flagged in red to the users.  The pdf and csv links immediately generate the files and open them directly to the user, bypassing the need to use the alerts box - nice feature.  The pdf and csv files render the correct data.

The return to registry sheet for the above UG Programme also seems consistent with the above report.
