The pandemic has accelerated the use of MS Teams by staff for business purposes. There has also been a growing interest and sporadic use of MS Teams as a tool to support hybrid teaching at the University throughout the pandemic.  

Guidance is needed to help teaching staff and students understand how Teams could be used alongside the VLE, both as a virtual classroom and broader community building environment. The Learn VLE provides a wealth of functionality that cannot and should not be replicated in MS Teams. Blackboard Collaborate will remain the University’s recommended and supported virtual Classroom tool, however, it is recognised that some teaching staff want to make use of MS Teams and Zoom for teaching purposes, therefore consistent guidance and support is now needed.
