‘General’ teaching spaces are managed centrally, whereas ‘specialist’ teaching spaces across the campus are managed and supported locally within schools.  Over time this can lead to substantial gaps in student experience within these high use specialist teaching spaces as they don’t fully benefit from central technology rollouts and estates refits.

We will increase the efficiency, quality and performance of the AV and IT through centralised, consistent management and support of specialist teaching spaces. The wide range of benefits will include:

  • Installation of Media Hopper Replay scheduling, recording and support services for lectures.
  • Adding other timetabled activity types to Media Hopper Replay scheduling service on an opt-in basis.
  • A dedicated remote support helpdesk.
  • Support staff within a 5 min response time.
  • Maintenance and repair service.
  • Consistent digital signage management and support.

These improvements alongside data-driven decision making for space and technology management will deliver student experience improvements now and maintain then in the longer term.
