This project is to ensure that ISG directorates/departments have up to date structured and documented Business Continuity Plans (BCP's) in place for their essential services. These are to be accessible in one place and are of a consistent quality and subject to regular exercising.
The project will seek to:
1. Develop BCPs within ISG
- This will include essential services, systems and buildings managed by ISG. Work has been carried out previously to identify these, this project will build on those and confirm with all directorates their correctness. This project will only look at BCPs for assets that are managed by ISG, although it is understood there can be a handover point between the business function and the services that underpin it.
2. Address Business Continuity Audit Action - Ensure a structured and documented IT Business Continuity plan document is in place and up to date for all key services and systems – accessible in one place, to a consistent quality and subject to regular / appropriate testing. -
This project will address the action raised in Business Continuity Audit Jan 2023 by:
- Carrying out the work mentioned in the point above - creating BCPs for essential IT systems
- Investigating possible technical options for storing BCP documentation. This can then be used across the University.
Out of Scope
- Disaster recovery plans
- Medium Priority Services
- Resurrection of Priority Service Group
- Any services, systems and buildings that are not managed by ISG.
