June 2017

Report Date
June 2017

Achievements this period

OccupEye on LGF
  • Live textual display, showing a lower limit of 6 desks occupied, has been developed and received from OccupEye.

  • Notification system has been enabled with Occupeye. This will alert the Service Team, by email every weekday just after 9am, should a sensor or host go down. The notifications will continue to send until they are fixed. These will be requested to be sent over the weekend too and the Duty Librarian added to the list to receive notifications.

  • The 3 x sensors identified as not feeding data (sensors 651046, 651051, 651068) were returned to OccupEye and replacement sensors have now been received and fitted.

  • Confirmation of date for installation of power and network point for LGF Plasma - NetJob 14507 - still to be confirmed. EIT to be raised by Estates to Susan for contractor costs.

  • AV installation for Plasma Screen setup on LGF approved - invoice received and sent for payment - date of installation tbc.

  • Request placed with Network Services to power the Host Receivers via Ethernet in order to prevent power supply being disconnected (I170511-0054).

  • Internal management reporting structure and initial reports created on wiki page.

  • Shared folder set up on USD shared drive for service team documentation.
  • Internal SLA in development (Service Team: Barry Croucher, Rad Sargeant, Alan Mill).
  • Review meeting scheduled with OccupEye for 19 July.
  • A video about the project was filmed as part of the Innovation Project Programme which is available on Media Hopper.
IoT Pilot in LG.03
  • Reports received from Simon Chapple for 18 April - 15 May.
  • 3 out of 6 cushions currently in place - 1 is being repaired by Simon Chapple, 2 presumed missing.
  • Chairs are regularly being removed from the room by users. Cushions are also regularly found handing down back of chair. This is affecting the data.

Issues

  • None.

Targets next period

  • Agree internal SLA.
  • Ensure creation of power and data and commissioning of ports for the Plasma Screen in LGF East.
  • Register Mac address of computer for network registration (with Network Services) - make, model, and operating system.
  • Setup of Plasma Screen for LGF display.
  • Creation and publication of webpage to host the live Study Desk Availability display.
  • Advertise new live display - including update to user information posters and IS News article.
  • Sensors re-sequencing (sensors are currently in 3 sequences starting from 1, and each sequence relates to a host.  We had expected them to be numbered 1-146.  This brings a constraint in terms of zoning so we would like this changed.  OccupEye can reconfigure, and then we would need the sensors re-stickered).  Barry to check with Lesley Ross status of desk numbering.
  • Change power supply to Ethernet for Receivers.
  • Review of data gathered from IoT in comparison with OccupEye in LG.03.
  • Consider relocating sensors (and received in corridor ceiling) currently located in LG.03 to seven individual study desks on Floor 1.
  • Barry to action mlist setup re Unidesk operator for faults.
