Impact and Dependencies
This project is seen as a follow-on project to TEL074 which was closed in 2021 and focused on formulating a decision whether to go ahead with Ultra Base Navigation and to establish its requirements/dependencies.
This project, with the focus on the full UBN roll-out, is part of the Learn Ultra and VLE Excellence Programme, headed by Lee-Ann Simpson.
Failing to deliver on VLEE001 would cause reputational risk to the University of Edinburgh from both a staff and student perspective as there would be a perception that the University ‘did not listen’ to feedback provided on the usability of Blackboard Learn. Any technical implications of an unsuccessful UBN Production release would also form a reputational risk and impact the students’ and teachers’ perception of the Learn Ultra project.
The project has the following known dependencies as referenced in TEL080:
- Datafeed Redevelopment (TEL078);
- Purchase of new Timetabling system;
- People & Money (Learning) rollout for migration of staff online self-enrol training'
- Staff Online Training Migration project;
- Curriculum Transformation Programme;
- Programme and Course Information Management (PCIM) Project (SAS010);
- Digital Strategy/Digital Transformation;
- Student Support Model.
