Resources, Skills and Costs
LTW are supplying resource to this project to cover the core roles including: Core Project Team, Service Owners, APPS, Testing User Groups and Comms Officer.
Involvement will be required from:
- The developers / Service Managers
- Communications Officer to help disseminate key info around the Ultra Base Navigation project
- Core project team / technical team to perform testing and provide sign off
- Project board, Schools and students to provide ongoing feedback on the usability of the Ultra Base Navigation
Project Governance
To provide governance to the Ultra Base Navigation project, the following structure will be created:
- Project Board for Learn Ultra: Provides governance, direction and support for all strategic decisions
- Core Project Team: Responsible for the delivery of the project and report to relevant boards. They are also the ones to provide sign off on the Staging release in order for us to proceed with the Production release of Ultra Base Navigation
- Blackboard (the vendor): Enables the Staging environment + triggers the Production release
- Service Owners: Responsible for setting the acceptance criteria and ensuring that everything looks and works as it should. Also responsible for the successful deployments of the releases (testing, Staging and Production). All integrations will also be signed off by the Service Owners from a technical perspective before the UBN is deployed
- APPS: Technical team
- QA / Learn Service Team: Responsible for reviewing the releases, testing the features, testing the design and providing feedback for the software development team to implement
The Ultra Base Navigation project will, at a minimum, undertake the following:
- Create a monthly status report for the Project Sponsor, Business Lead and Programme Manager
- Create a monthly project report through https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/, including a RAG status
- Create and disseminate monthly blogs about the Ultra Base Navigation
- Update the UBN Sharepoint site whenever necessary if new information needs to be added
- Organise a fortnightly meeting to:
- Review progress in relation to the project plan and key milestones
- Review any emerging issues
- Review the project risk register
- Confirm activities for the following period
Meetings will be via a hybrid approach with minutes circulated afterwards.
