LILEE – The Little Interface for Lab Equipment Efficiency – is low-cost, networked, smart device for the efficient management of lab equipment. It is an outcome of a the Enhance project - a two-year long collaboration with staff at the Roslin Institute to co-design an innovation for behaviour-based energy saving. Eight LILEE devices are currently installed in the Roslin Institute. These devices have provided estimated energy savings of 20-30%, and have received a positive response from staff regarding the improvement of lab working practices.

This project aims to achieve wider-scale deployment of up to 50 LILEE devices across the University estate, and to establish the necessary infrastructure to provide continued support for LILEE as part of the IoT Service. The project has received additional financial support (4k) from the Sustainable Campus Fund.
