Priority and Funding
This project is classified as Normal priority. This is not expected to be modified, but it is important that the plan is adhered to so that the deployment window is met. The project was originally planned for 21/22 but has been brought forward into this financial year.
It is a core-funded project.
Impact and Dependencies
The upgrade of the OS on the servers included in this project will increase the Web team's confidence in the infrastructure, and it is important that the timings of the deployments in each environment around other EdWeb maintenance activities. There are, at the moment, no other dependencies within the WPS programme but the project team should be cognisant of other infrastructure projects and relatedmaintenance activity.
Lessons learned from previous projects
Initial discussions with the project team have indicated the high importance of timings for deployments, particularly in LIVE, so that any downtime is kept to a strict minimum. This is because of the high priority of the EdWeb service and the business need to maintain the highest level of availability.
