Closure Report

Project Summary

Each year the College replace a number of PCs within its student computer labs, teaching spaces and meeting rooms (known as facilities managed machines).  The replacements are based on a 5 year lifecycle.

Outcome

Computer Labs

• 15 x PCs for room 7029 at the Dental Institute - After delivery, Dental Institute informed us they need to drop quantity of University PCs in the room down to 12, so the 3 extra PCs will be repurposed in other MVM learning and teaching spaces.
• 15 x PCs for room 7068 at the Dental Institute - Completed.
• 24 x PCs for Computer Lab 1 and 18 PCs for Computer Lab 2 in the Western General Hospital - Due to the redevelopment of the MEC, the number of PCs for the computer labs dropped, but the number required to run the other new rooms increased (i.e. the simulation suite, group study space etc...) so the total quantity remained the same.  These will be installed during the redevelopment work.

Teaching/Meeting Rooms

• 2 x PCs for the Borders General Hospital - Due to be built with a custom Windows 10 configuration and will then be delivered.
• 1 x PC for the BMTO Board Room - Delivered to Little France and awaiting build by the local team before being taken over to Teviot.
• 1 x PC for the Dermatology Seminar Room - Delivered to Little France and awaiting build by the local team before being taken over to Lauriston.
• 2 x PCs for the Greenfield Suite - Delivered to Little France and awaiting build by the local team before being taken over to George Square.
• 1 x PC for Room G.06 in Hugh Robson Building - Delivered to Little France and awaiting build by the local team before being taken over to George Square.
• 3 x PCs for the Chancellor's Building - Completed.
• 26 x PCs for the Vet School - Delivered and will be installed during the teaching spaces upgrades this summer.
• 17 x PCs for the Western General Hospital - Removed from scope due to a lack of funding.  These will be picked up during the next financial year.
