Report by Susan Ridder-Patrick for April 2024

Achievements this period

  • ITI CIS (network and door access) and LST (AV) installs completed in time for handover of the building from BBK to Estates on 15 April
  • Handover of building from Estates to EFI took place as planned on 29 April
  • ITI CIS and LST continuing with commissioning/snagging work
  • Requirements gathering for DDI Hub partners and DDI Hub Members continued
  • Noting that in the TTU programme there was an agreement to run DDI hub pilot for desk booking
  • Disparate DDI hub/EFI strands aligned across ISG projects
  • ITI CIS feedback on brief was received (but milestone needs revised and agreed)
  • Printers have been installed

Issues

  • Estates contruction project has not supplied complete sets of information for the EFI building. ITI CIS require this information to assure that the fit out has been completed to specification and to enable effective support for users in the building
    • Full Test results and as fitted drawings are outstanding. This is escalated with Estates and construction project.
    • Complete WAP installation information - there is a disparity of almost 100 WAPs in recent data from Estates project. This is escalated with Estates and construction project as although this may be incomplete documentation, there is a risk that these are WAPs not yet installed which puts Wifi performance in the building at risk.
  • Query with Estates and construction project as some patches from D2 have been removed
  • The requirements for DDI partners and members have not been completed and signed-off increasing the risk that there will not be enough time to design and implement long-term solutions for tenants in September. This is due to the Hubs Operating model not being fully defined
  • Milestones in brief need to be revised following ITI CIS feedback - a proposed revised data for resilient link re-test is with EFI for agreement
  • Resourcing reduction in ITI CIS from end of May puts at risk any of the delayed assurance work for EFI

Next Steps

  • Complete milestone revisions and submit brief, noting requirements are for Hubs rather than EFI alone
  • Full test results, as-fitted drawings to be received and reviewed
  • Complete information for WAPs to be received for assurance that installation is as per spec
  • Complete any remaining commissioning/snagging works
  • Complete requirements gathering for DDI Hubs
  • Complete Hubs services architecture design and build
  • Complete resilient link test
