This project is to examine potential pathways for the University search functionality on our main website.   We will ask whether the current supplier model continues to best match our needs, or are there other, scalable and achievable options that could demonstrably improve the search outputs.  

This project will examine search alongside recent advances in machine learning (AI) technology and ask whether traditional search could be supplemented by the incorporation of language models to provide better search context.  We need to understand these potential designs, whether they are possible and whether they are practical.  Any concept recommended must have proven and clear benefits for the university.
