Background and Vision
This project will define the institution’s digital badge standards and value for internal and external learners, along with detailing the governance structure around the technical implementation of the central digital badge platform procured under project OCP001.
The digital badge 3 year pilot will be available to all users and to ensure value, the project will facilitate the creation of a set of standards and governance to manage badge creation across the institution. Digital badges are verifiable, portable and stackable digital credentials with embedded metadata that validate a skill or achievement.
The scope of the standards & governance project is to:
- Facilitate the creation of an institutional wide governance structure as well as detailing the responsibilities for the creation, issuing and earning of badges
- Determine the standards around the requirements for earning a badge, the appearance of the badge, meta data contained within in order to comply with relevant standards
- Produce web pages and guidance on the value of digital badges.
